Maria Simbra

Championing all writers and authors, Maria Simbra is the director and principal at Ironed Words Productions, where she leads writing groups and conferences. She’s a memoirist on page and on stage. Her words can be found in lit mags, such as Door Is A Jar, Page & Spine, The Grief Dialogues, Hags on Fire, Sad Girl Review, and The Twin Bill. Her words can be heard live on the stages of the Steel City. Her alter ego, Em S. A’cor, writes medical romance and Gen X romance. Her books: Twitter Crush, Greg and the Jill of All Trades, and Greg and the Weddings. Book 2 of the Tweet Hearts series, Twitter Flames, is on the launch pad. In former professional lives she was the medical reporter on KDKA-TV News | CBS Pittsburgh for 19 years, and before that, a neurologist in private practice and at UPMC. She dotes on her husband, daughter, and pet gecko, Chill. Sometimes she walks to find her words, and she’s always down for coffee.
