David Blackmore is associate professor of English and writing program coordinator at Chatham University in Pittsburgh. He was born in Pittsburgh and spent the first half of his childhood there before moving north to a small town in the Allegheny National Forest. After graduating from Kane High School, he left Northern Appalachia to live in large cities all over the U.S. and the world, finally returning to Pittsburgh for good in 2022. David has completed the manuscript for his queer environmental family memoir Chemical Works Road and is currently seeking representation for the book. He has published memoir essays built from excerpts from the manuscript in Wordrunners eChapbooks, The Watershed Journal, Rockvale Review, Northern Appalachia Review, The Fourth River, and Allium: A Journal of Poetry & Prose.
