Alison Condie Jaenicke is Assistant Director of Creative Writing at Penn State University, where she teaches writing. For a decade, she served as advisor for the student literary magazine, Kalliope. Born in Westmoreland County, PA, Alison was raised in the Washington, DC, area; earned her BA and MA in English at the University of Virginia; and lived for a time in Knoxville, TN, where she served on the board of the Knoxville Writer’s Guild. Since 2001, she’s been settled back in her birth state. Alison’s essays and stories have appeared in Pleiades; Appalachian Review; Superstition Review, and others.
