Donna Burtch is a writer and poet whose life began in northwestern Pennsylvania. In 2020 she published In the Key of Sea: The Life and Times of William A. Burtch, a book about her father’s experiences in northern Appalachia and the seismic ways the Navy changes his life. Donna and her brother, William Burtch, co-authored a historic biography entitled W.G. The Opium-Addicted Pistol Toting Preacher Who Raised the First Federal African American Union Troops (Sunbury Press, May 2022) She lives in Columbus, Ohio.
